Hi Ms. Moore, I enjoyed your book. However, whenever I think about the women and the injustices and the dehumanization they experienced, I become overwhelmed with sadness. I would like to piggy back off of Lynn's question, in your research were there photos taken from the various locations the Radium Girls worked? Also, did the photos extend beyond the 50's? I listened to your book, so I did not get a chance to delve into your research listings. Thank you, Frances
Hi Frances. Thank you for reading. Yes, there are photographs available; a handful are published in the print editions of the book. These did go beyond the 1950s as I recall - mostly shots of the women at work in increasingly protected environments (where such protections were put in place). I found these photos mostly in the files of the CHR, belonging to the Argonne National Lab, and now stored at the National Archives in Chicago. Hope that helps. Thanks again for listening to their story and for your emotional tribute to the women that you give them with your response. Best, Kate
