How on earth can someone hate American Gods though?
Lol. Natalia, I was wondering how on earth someone could have written AND published American gods?
Yeah. Book is that much unbelievably good :D To the extent where you can't really believe, that human could write AND publish it ;)
Ha ha ha ha ha, get outta here. That book was so weird and wrong and so weird, uurrgghh, gives me chills just thinking about it. Oh, well, that's Gaiman's eccentricity for you. When he's good, he's really good, almost like a god.
And when he's bad, just run.😅
I read Anansi Boys because I LOVED American Gods! No the stories are not really connected. In my opinion, there is more humor in Anansi Boys, but both are imaginative and well written. It doesn't matter which you read first, just be sure to read both!!
American Gods was more about the old gods, which were very old and weird. Gaiman brought them back from the "dead" and united them into an epic story. As noted in the story, and now 16 years old, American gods are sometimes short lived technology based obsessions. Anansi Boys is (fun) fantasy and American Gods is horror.
i have read all of gaimans novels other than anansi boys, and I would consider american gods by far the worst of them, but to be fair, still not a bad book, I did enjoy the ending, I just think it should have been thoroughly cut down by a third or so...
