What was it all for? Not sure. Maybe to chronicle Cassie's journey into her black hole of despair? And use Silicon Valley startup life as a catalyst?
If it's nothing more than a glimpse of untreated mental illness, then I still say to what point? I kept waiting for some insight that never came, then this non-ending...it just seemed like a waste of time.
I'm going to go further and say it's actually dangerous. I shudder to think of someone I love and who has severe depression reading this book and not reaching out for help.
Yes! Cassie's self-aware enough to acknowledge her black hole & she recognized her mother's mental illness, yet she made no effort to get help for herself. It's disturbing.
