Gothic horror is atmospheric. This book, at least in its modern portions, is not atmospheric at all. It's just a trio of annoying characters caught in some annoying soap opera where they're constantly fretting about their relationships.

Thanks for mansplaining Gothic horror, Eric. Your hot take is just your opinion. I think it fits the genre rather well.
