Nearly all Agatha Christie books feature "modern woman" characters always portrayed as professional and earning their own keep, which is seen as admirable.
Of course there are also notions of honor and chivalry etc. some might deem old-fashioned but if anything these books give better role models for young women than "progressive" TV shows from the 21st century celebrating self-destructive behavior and lack of responsibilities in the name of "freedom".
