Susan I got 10: {Spoiler Alert}
1. John - suicide
2. Penny - killed by John
3. Bernard - suicide
4. Ian - killed by John
5. Cullen - killed by Bogdan
6. Turkish Giani - killed by Bogdan
7. Peter's brother killed by Cullen
8. Taxi driver - killed by Cullen via Turkish Giani
9. "girlfriend" - killed by boyfriend
10. "boyfriend" killed by Penny
11. nun - suicide

Sorry if I spelled anyone's name wrong I listened to the audio version. I count suicide as murder. There was a lot of death - But what else should I have expected in a "Murder Mystery" - Though, there isn't usually that many un-related deaths.

John was worried that they would uncover Penny's crime and this would tarnish her reputation. He knew he would be arrested for killing Ian and the story would come out so he killed himself. I think he was hoping that the Thursday Murder Club would take pity on Penny and not tell the police about Penny's murder. John wasn't Police and as much as Penny may have told him, he probably didn't put together that there was limited possibility of connecting Penny to the bones in the cemetery.
