No, I have no interest. The original is a classic to me and great. Second is bizarro but has it's niche crowd. I actually really like the 3rd. 4th - yech - only good thing about that is laughing at Matthew M. I was not into the remake (older) and didn't watch the new one. 5th, no, I think I started it but turned if off, no idea, I'll just pretend it doesnt exist
Well, I didn't have any interest in an update to the Faces of Death films I watched in the 80s, but the recent FoD film was pretty good (worth the $6 I paid to see it). The latest Final Destination film was nifty. If A24 can add anything new to the mythology, it could be worth it. Cheaply made horror films are one of the best ways to make money in Hollywood these days (if you don't have a Tom Cruise, Christopher Nolan or high-profle comic book film to release.)
I might be the last person to have never watched any of the Chainsaw movies. Probably never will. Not my kinda thing. I like horror, not torture.
Good to see I'm not the only one who thinks enough is enough. Like any franchise, the first will never be topped but again as I stated above, I feel like each sequel in Texas Chainsaw gets worse which makes me feel like there doesn't need to be any more made.
Yeah Erin, everything these days is being overdone and this is one of those things that need to stay as is. No more
What's really annoying me about this is the fact that A24 is making it and given their recent copyright issues with Backrooms and the fact they are hit and miss when it comes to movies. Also, the guy who directed Obsession is going to direct...no thanks. Didn't want this to begin with and seeing as he and his stupid movie Obsession are both insanely overrated he'll probably ruin this too.
I don't know about a NEW TCM movie, but 18August is Texas Chainsaw Day and the original is back in the theaters for one day only, marking the fictional date the original film took place on.I'm there!

Yes! Thank God for this at least!
It will most probably be generated and made using computers and AI...Nothing like the original films...Count me OUT!! I won't be going anywhere near it!!

A24 just recently acquired the rights to it and honestly, they're very hit or miss for me. It's more than that though, the franchise has gone down over the last 20 years, and it's another classic horror franchise that the film industry just wants to re-vision and try to milk more money out of and I just don't see a way in which a new film is created and it being even remotely good.
Thoughts?
