PamG I've started reading a digital copy of The McCollister Files Vol. 1: Helix Rising: by J.L. Calder. It's billed as a military thriller origin story, but it also has aspects of a political thriller.

I'm also reading a physical copy of Guess Again by Charlie Donlea. This seems more of a crime thriller to me although it is also billed as a psychological thriller.

I've been wrestling with Robert Ludlum's, The Bourne Ultimatum for awhile.

This is my first Ludlum novel and I must say, his reputation for being verbose is an understatement. I do like his settings though. Very exotic.

It's been several years since I read a Ludlum novel, but you are right. The books can be verbose, but settings, atmosphere, and action are fantastic.

PamG The Crossroads by C.J. Box.
This one is a little different in that Joe and Marybeth's daughters are the main characters so far with their parents being in the background. - Contemporary western crime thriller

I don't know if this is a real thriller:
La donna della domenica (The Sunday Woman) by Fruttero and Lucentini, it's a 1972 crime novel.
I saw the movie (with Mastroianni, Bisset and Trintignant) in the late seventies for the first time, watched a couple of times after, but never read it before today :(

Antonio, based on the description, I think it fits as a crime thriller. It has a detective working to solve the murder in addition to its satire of Turin society. I haven't seen the movie or read the book but maybe someone else has and can share their thoughts.

I hope you enjoy it. I read the series sometime before 2017. I think it was probably in the early 1990's.

It's never too late to read a classic. Actually, I had collected reprints of Christie's books and read them in the 1990's. It took me several months to read all of them along with my other reading.

I read the books before seeing the TV series and enjoyed both. The plots are a little different but the essence of the books and Phryne's character were well portrayed in the series.

Very sad that Kerry Greenwood passed away last year at the age of 70. The last book in the Phryne Fisher series Murder in the Cathedral was published after her death.

I'm a 34% of the book and, yes, the story is quite different from the TV, but it is nice to read and Phryne is really enjoyable.

This is sad.
As a reader I would have loved to have more novel with Phryne, beacouse I'm enjoying this first book.
As a human being I'm sad for the death of the writer, of course.
