Entertaining review!
Debbie, I can’t take it! You are amazing! 😂 I have no idea whether I am more or less likely to read this book based on your review...I need to process...but I do know for sure that I loved your review! Pogo stick time! 👍🏻
You made spill out my coffee while reading your amazing review (for context - I wake up, make a big French Press coffee jar, turn on my PC and drink my coffee while I read GR). I like "the book is something else" and since my library is going to purchase is, I guess I'm going to read it.
Ha! That was the such an unique entertaining review. I'm sorry your love affair fell flat. I hope my tango with Luster doesn't crash before we finish our time together.
Great review, Debbie! And I agree, the book started out beyond brilliant but like you I lost steam a bit by the halfway point.
Debbie! This is hilarious and oh so clever. You really need to write a book! I'm certain I wouldn't want to break up with it ❤️
Now...do I want to put this in my Sept BOTM box.....hmmm

Thanks, Betsy. Hope I didn’t dissuade you too much! The language really grabbed me. But I understand about too-long queues!

Thank you so much, Jenna, for your kind words. I was quite surprised that I had to head to Couples Counseling, and I definitely wasn’t expecting the book to be so sassy. I’m flattered that you pulled out your pogo stick for me!

Thanks, Jenna. Sometimes I get bored writing serious reviews. I gotta change it up!

Thanks, Bianca. Ha, sorry I made you spill your coffee, he he. I love hearing of your morning routine, a half-sleepy Bianca with her tasty coffee, sitting in front of the computer, with a screen full of Goodreads! Will be so curious to hear what you think of this one!

Thanks, Candi! I aim to entertain, but sometimes I go overboard : )
Karen wrote: "😅your a hoot! Fantastic review! I’ll pass on this one!"
Thanks, Karen! I was bored writing plain old reviews, and this is what came out, lol.
Lisa wrote: "Your review is so good - there is no way the book could be half as entertaining!"
Thanks so much, Lisa! It was fun to write! I get tired of being serious.

Thanks, Carol. It was a kick imagining Couples Counseling!
Anne wrote: "Your review made my evening! So creative and hilarious, Debbie. Brava!"
Thanks so much, Anne! You made my day if my review made your evening! Despite our breakup, the book and I continue to be friends.
Super review, Debbie! I've found myself having conversations like that with books! David Winter, Iris Murdoch and others have invoked the syndrome.
I'm breaking my no-like-on-postive-ARC-reviews for the creative thought you put into this review, Debbie. I would find it very difficult to give any free book a negative review, but the shortcomings you mentioned actually made me curious to take a look at this.

Thanks, Maria. I'm sorry the affair ended abruptly, too. Ha, I hope your dance lasts the whole way through!
Hannah wrote: "Great review, Debbie! And I agree, the book started out beyond brilliant but like you I lost steam a bit by the halfway point."
Thanks, Hannah. Just reread your great review--you had such a similar reaction! You even said that at first you thought it was your favorite book of the year, like I did! But that first half, man, that first half!
Brandice wrote: "I liked the story and loved your review of it, Debbie!"
Thanks so much, Brandice! It was weird--NetGalley put it on my shelf without asking me--so at first, I wasn't too happy about it. Thought briefly of making a stink about it, but then decided I would let it stay in my queue.

Well, you made my day with that comment--thanks, Jan! I want you to read it so I can hear what you think. So yeah, put it in your Sept BOTM box!

Thanks so much, Jim! I haven't read any David Winter; will have to check him out. Oh, I read a lot of Murdoch in my younger years. I'm sure her books and I had complicated relationships, lol.

I'm fascinated that you don't give negative reviews for free books. I can't help myself; can't keep my mouth shut!

Thanks, Karen. You crack me up!!
Absolutely brilliant, creative, clever review Debbie! Probably the most creative review I've ever seen! Well done! I am very intrigued!
