I KNOW!!! dont get me wrong, i love the somewhat love triangle, but i'm getting tired of it too. she should just pick someone and move on with it.
Yes she needs to choose and I say Joe...that would still leave some chemistry to write about between she and Ranger...
I am pretty tired of the triangle too. If she can't pick Joe or Ranger, by all means bring in a man she can pick. I love the series, but it is getting quite old now. Let's see how she does when she is married and has a baby...
I love the fact that Stephanie keeps Joe and Ranger - and us - guessing. I hope she never decides between those two. If she HAS to settle down(and I hope she doesn't!), I'd want it to be someone we haven't even met yet.
A 'choice' doesn't have to mean marriage. She could actually DATE Ranger and see how a relationship would be, instead of just mindless sex. Neither of them are looking to settle down, so I don't think it's a matter of 'who's she going to marry'.
If you would read the book maybe again Joe and Ranger are then ones that do not want to get married it is not up to Stephenie alone..... Takes two to tango ya know
I would like for her to hurry up and choose too and marriage has to be the answer as it stands now she's just in lifetime girlfriend status not to mention the fact that its an open relationship. that was a good idea for about a month.
So what happens if and when Stephanie decides to marry one or the other? Does she still go out bounty hunting? What happens if she gets pregnant? Drop the kid at daycare and hopes she remembers to remove the kid's car seat before her car blows up? I can't picture Stephanie married!
Believe it or not, there are women that get married and never have children or wait a long time to have one. And there are relationships that commit but don't marry. So regardless of who she chooses, why does a 'choice' have to be synonymous with 'settling down'?
Oh, I know that. So should Steph just choose one guy to be exclusive with? If she chooses Joe, would Ranger still rescue her from danger? Or could Joe by himself protect her? Sometimes I think one guy just isn't enough for her!
lol Mayda, she does seem to need her own Reserve platoon :) If she chose Joe, I think Ranger would still rescue her and help her professionally, but doubt his apartment would be open to her. If she chose Ranger, I don't think there'd really be a need to have Joe in the picture. And that's not coming from an "I hate Joe" standpoint, cuz I don't, but I just don't think he contributes much to the plots. Ranger actually makes the books interesting beyond just the triangle aspect. And sorry if my previous comment sounded snarky; rereading it, i see it came out a bit rude, which wasn't my intention.
Oh, I know! And I just can't picture Stephanie without Ranger in her life. Joe does seem like he's willing just to sit in the corner and wait for Stephanie to come to him when she's ready. But is Ranger a one-woman man? I just can't decide. Joe would be the guy I'd take home to Mom, but Ranger would be the one in my dreams!
But has Ranger given any other women a key to his apartment? While we don't know for certain, it's unlikely that he has, since I can't imagine it going well if they both showed up unannounced, lol. And to me, that reflects SOME kind of emotion on his part. So I don't think Ranger has really been given a chance to show what he'd be like if Steph was willing to give him more than stolen kisses or casual sex. Why should he try to get serious with her if she's still undecided about Morelli? I just think it'd be nice to see a book where that option was explored, and I don't the sex in 17 counts.
So, in essence, Stephanie is just stringing both guys along? I'd like to see her in date-mode. Would she be less accident prone? Maybe she should see only one of the guys for a couple of months, then the other, and then no guy, and then see which one she misses the most. Of course, before that could happen, she'd be in trouble over her head and need rescuing again.
I think if she chose Joe, Ranger would still always be there because he would still be hoping for the occasional "casual sex". But I reckon Joe would be out of there, if she chose Ranger.
Well I can tell by other talk that if she went with Joe he would ask or say she needs to give up bounty hunting. Well to me that would be the end of the series... I am not ready for that yet. I do think ranger feels more then he is saying......
I agree whole hardheartedly. Joe would make her quit - or least scale back drastically. Ranger is a very undercover sort in all his dealings. I seriously think he is hiding a big secret, besides his affection for Stephanie. But, I fear if Steph chooses one over the other, the series will lose its driving force and whither away. I, too, like it too much for that to happen!
I think you will see Stephanie make a descision when the series end. And I thought there were only going to be 20 books in the series.
I too have become annoyed at her lack of a choice, because the character has stagnated. I think she should end up with Joe, and them getting married would open up a whole new avenue for her character to explore.
I completely agree with Sue. I think her decision to marry Joe could easily result in another five books. Ranger is great, but he isn't the marrying kind. And Joe would be perfect for her and some more books. I'm getting annoyed as well and wish, like others, that she would grow up, make a decision, learn to use a gun and stop dangling two men. I was really disappointed with all the sex in this book. It makes me think there's nothing left to write.
