Dr. Ian Malcolm
Dr. Ian Malcolm, alongside Dr. Grant, is another key figure in the Jurassic Park films and novels. He is a mathematician and chaos theorist and refers to himself as a "chaotician". He goes on many long lectures on chaos theory and the results of meddling with nature, and other subjects throughout both medias, often turning out to be correct. While described (by Hammond in the film) as having the mannerisms of a rock star, he becomes more serious after the first Jurassic Park. He noted in the second book to have been in a previous relationship with Dr. Sarah Harding (in the film they are dating), and that Dr. Harding had been in love with him at one time, though it is unknown if he knows this.
