Deadpool

[close] A high-risk taker with a death wish, Deadpool fights like there's no tomorrow. He truly believes that the world and most of the people on it are going to hell in a hand basket. Many think he's crazy. And they're probably right. But with all the rage and contempt he's bottled up, it would make anyone go off the deep end from time to time. However, behind all the guns and smart-mouthed comments, there are likeable qualities to DP. He is very modest and very loyal to those he cares about.

He had a normal childhood growing up in Daly City for four years before moving to El Sobrante. There his parents enrolled him in a local school. Throughout his elementary school days, he was a perfect target for ridicule. He was small, weak, and quiet. Most of the people he met weren't big jerks. One of his close friends in his class was Lisa, who would later become Psylocke. As the years passed Jason had a feeling that he was different from his other classmates. In eighth grade, puberty hit and his mutant powers were discovered. One time he got into an accident while riding his bike. Badly injured, he was still able to walk away. Later, doctors discovered that Jason was a mutant and that his rengeration power healed him faster than normal. Another time, some jerk was making fun of the soon to be "merc with a mouth." Jason had had enough and pushed him a great distance with ease. Amazed and confused, Jason fled from the seen so fast the jerk counldn't catch him. He suddenly realized he also had incredible strength and speed for someone his age and stature. He would use this advantage to get revenge from his ridiculers. He enrolled in a martial arts class and discovered that he had super agility too. He trained long and hard, but before he could get his revenge, he graduated and the class went their separate ways. He had to bottle up his rage and move on to high school.

High school wasn't much different from elementary. Same kinds of jerks picked on him. However, he was afraid to retaliate for fear of suspension or expulsion. He continued to bottle up his rage. Fortunately, he had a friend in Lisa to help him get through his first few weeks. He also made a new friend in Ray, better known as Weasel, his first year. Like Jason, Weasel was ridiculed and picked on because of his intelligence. The two soon became close friends. So close, that they revealed to each other their special talents. With Weasel's genius and arsenal and Jason's strength and agility, Weasel realized how much power they had. The two formed a revenge-for-hire business with Jason upfront handling the dirty work and Weasel managing from behind the scenes. Since Jason would be doing all the physical work and would be seen in public, he gave himself a secret identity and costume. Deadpool was born. DP would kick ass and get paid for it. Many of their assignments were fellow peers. Unfortunately, DP would sometimes go over board on a job, unleashing all the rage inside of him. He has severely injured many people, but they deserved it, right? The conflict between his anger and his morals in his mind would quickly wear him down. The last straw came when he nearly killed one of his assignments, a dumb jock and senior at the time. He gave up the business and went into crime-fighting. DP still snaps from time to time, but at least now they're people he doesn't know and really deserve a beating. When DP isn't wallowing in his own self-pity, he can be a very fun-loving guy (especially when he's with his friends) and a fierce, determined fighter, making DP a worthy member of the COBRAS. Who would've thought that the quiet guy who sat in the back corner would become everyone's favorite "wise-crackin' assassin"?
