Annie Wright
Pretty blonde barmaid at the Ship’s Lantern, a “slightly more genteel” pub near the docks that catered to ship captains and East India Company workers. Childhood friend of the murdered clerk, who helped her escape a brutal marriage and get a job at the Lantern. Charlotte recognizes from her speech that Annie is from a well-to-do family, not the docks, and offers to help her find more suitable employment as a lady’s maid.
