Captain Andreas
Andreas was a leader of the Cuna people. He was one of the first Cuna captains to approach the Scots colonists after they arrived in Darien in 1698. He asked whether they were friends of the Spanish, explaining that he understood that they intended to cross to the South Sea, and informing them of his friendships with English privateers. He warned the Scots of the mobilisation of a Spanish ground force marching from Panama to Portobello to augment the naval contingent consolidating from the latter port and Cartagena.
