Michael Scot
Michael Scot of Balwearie (1175 – c. 1232) was a 12th century Scottish philosopher, translator, polymath, alchemist and reputed wizard.
He translated Averroes and was the greatest public intellectual of his time, serving as Judicial Astrologer to Frederick II.
