Why is there no closure on the story about Cindy Walker? I liked where that was headed, but then nothing more - just assumptions and dead witnesses. I enjoyed everything about this book but that - hence the 3-4 stars instead of 5.

I grew up in California, but a girl moved in who told this to our teacher, and we all learned it!
I may be putting nonsense into it, but maybe the crooked is for bent, or twisted life of the main characters. Or, maybe just about Mississippi!(less)
