Has anyone read anything similar to Portrait? What I found especially remarkable about it was how it preserved ingenuity without becoming too bizarre and disjointed like Ulysses. I also loved the beauty in Joyce's writing style. It felt like reading an imagist poem, but even better! Let me know :)

It is also a poet's development story written with wit and poetics, has a wast amount of beautiful history and art references (this time more into russian history) (less)

Hi I have yet to read this, as I'm worried the book I have is abridged. I bought the Bantam Classics edition first issued in 1992. It is rather tiny in size, aside from the amount of pages being 229. It is a little bigger than an iPhone 6+. I would rather read the non-abridged version, if this turns out to be abridged. Would somebody be able to help me?
