I've just started - I'm at 3% in and I've just had to come up for air. I feel like I've been reading for ages. Only 3% and I've already been through an awesome matrix-style assassination attempt, a pitched battle and the teaser of some epic karma / reincarnating magic knights that all want to die.(less)

According to him this is going to be a 10 book series and a book will be published every other year. I believe him when he says he'll manage to write that much.

You'll get hooked. It's a great series, don't wait until it's finished. I am just now starting to re-read the first two books. They are that good.(less)

Two of those four are women, and they are both wonderfully written, highly intelligent people. They probably are not as important in this book as the men are (at least, they get less pages of the story), but they take on much larger roles in the following books.

Also, I think it's worth noting that in these books, society regards women as scholars and men aren't usually even literate. If a man wants to read, he will have a woman come and read to him. So there's that.

I think you'll enjoy these!(less)

I feel the same way about sexually explicit content, and that's one of the many reasons that Brandon Sanderson is by far and away my favorite author. The closest things come are in Warbreaker, but I wasn't bothered by it and wouldn't consider it sexually explicit.(less)

By the time you finish the book, it's an avalanche, no doubt. But the momentum does slowly pick up, as Sanderson introduces you to the world, characters, and magic system. Keep at it. It'll pay off.(less)
