My tally so far is …moreMany of us are consumer reviewers, who are given ARCs (advance readers copies) to read and "critique" the book before publication. My tally so far is approaching 400. Sometimes I've gotten an ARC 6, even 8, months before pub date; sometimes they come in at the last minute. Although I always say in the review copy that the publisher has provided an advance copy.(less)

Ed Bernard Well, I dunno. She was, like all the characters, both likable and awful at times. That's what three-dimensional people are. Moriarty's books are more …moreWell, I dunno. She was, like all the characters, both likable and awful at times. That's what three-dimensional people are. Moriarty's books are more nuanced that what one might call genre fiction and characters are conflicted. Also, I found the scene at the end, when Savannah visits her mother, to reveal a great deal about the depth of her depravity. (less)
