Being an avid fan of Lisa and have read most of her work, i feel there is a lot of similarity between characters in Hathaways and Ravenels. Like Helen reminded me of Win Wes reminds me of Leo Pandora feels like an attempt to create an eccentric character like Beatrix. Rhys reminds me of Harry Rutledge And from what i have read so far Cassandra reminds me of Poppy. Does anyone else feels the same?

Does anyone know if the reference to Matthew, son of Devon and Kathleen, is actually William? I thought for sure the baby was named William in the previous books.

I think Lisa had mistaken that and had some conflicts with the years events happened too. For instance, Gabriel and Pandora married in 1876 in Devil in Spring, but in Devil's Daughter, apparently the wedding was in 1877. Helen and Rhys's story began in January 1876, eight months later, we learned that Helen was pregnant, which means their baby would be born in 1877, but according to Pandora (whose storyline was set in 1876), Kathleen was visting the newborn and Helen while she had a talk with Devon. In Hello Stranger, Garrett and Ethan were already an item in 1876, but again, in Devil in Spring, Garrett seemed to be still alone at the end of 1877. Not to mention that Garrett and Ethan stayed at Eversby Priory in 1876, when, apparently, West had already met Phoebe, but that happened in 1877, according to Devil's Daughter (?). The constant inconsistencies seemed to revolved around Gabriel and Pandora's wedding. Though I've enjoyed all stories in this series (not so much with Cold-Hearted Rake), the confusion still pricks me a bit. I think Lisa should be more careful with her timeline and other details this time. (less)
