Elena is a skilled hunter, doesnt spend time being glamorous or helpless or petulant. She isn't impossibly perfect/beautiful, and her weaknesses are believable.
She works for an organisation of hunters, male + female who are all tough,strong and skilled. She's intelligent, and more like a real woman than many of the Paranormal Romance books out there. The world-building in the series is superb, the secondary characters fantastic- many good enough to be the centre of their own book.
And the archangel Raphael is a three dimensional alpha male. Definately a series worth reading.(less)

Okay, so I'm interested in reading this book (because it was recommended to me but Kate Daniels fans), but I'm not huge on books where half the book is just steamy sex scenes and there is nothing else to the story. I like to have some other aspects to it like action or intrigue mixed in with the romance. Do you think this book falls into that kind of category?

Started the second and gave up after a couple of pages.. straight into Raphael carrying her off to bed....nope, not interested. Try Debra Dunbar's Imp Series.. Funny and clever, AND she's a 40 yr old woman who's secretly a demon. (less)
