Is this book appropriate for a nine year old in 4th grade?

Anyone think this will be made into a movie on day? (I was too scared to read a whole lot of it).

Marcia I visualized it as a movie the whole time I was reading it. Would make a great movie

I may have missed it, but I’ve double and triple checked. On page 57, Darby thinks to herself “Jay Nissen. Age nine. Reported missing in San Diego.” Except, at no point was there any indication that I can find that Jay was nine. It’s such a tiny detail but it set the read off on the wrong foot for me. Can anyone point out where this was stated and I missed it?

Lisa Costanzo I assumed that she had learned this detail while talking to her and then it was inserted there to allow us, the readers, to also know.

The ending was confusing.did Darby love it not?
