Brandon started writing Oathbringer and realized that there were two character developments that needed to happen first. So he wrote Edgedancer to fulfill that. He talks about it at the end of the book. (But don’t read that until you finish Edgedancer. Spoilers and all.)(less)

JB Lynn It definitely contains spoilers for the first two stormlight archive novels.
