I am just wondering if the author is aware that the famine happened in Russia (at the Volga river area) and Central Asia Soviet republics AT THE SAME time? I suppose if she admits that there will not be any sense to write this book.

She did state that there was, a famine all over (an unnatural famine) but Stalin had an agenda to crush Ukraine and thus enacted specific policies that killed a disproportionately large amount of Ukrainians.
