Usually it’s just the main character and a situation. I don’t act on the ideas, until a crucial plot twist or element strikes me. I can’t force the anything, I just wait and trust that they’ll come. When I can’t stop thinking about it, I know it’s time to start writing. Once I begin, the ideas really start flowing and then I make notes on what I want to happen in each chapter. (less)
