The scene is between two teen girls and it only lasts like a page or two. There are also mentions of them kissing and one-liners about touching but it's not too overt or common. I hope my answer helps you and others! (less)

Re…moreNat, I did not ask about whether the main character was male or female, but I referred to the fact that the book has been reviewed by mostly women. Regardless of whether the author wrote the book for males or females, apparently women like this book more than men do. I wanted to know if any of the women who have read this book would recommend this book to a male.

But to respond to your question, I think we need to remember that books are written before they are read. Most frequently, authors choose a main character that is relatable for the reader, and most readers relate best with a main character of their own sex. The intended audience isn't judged based off the sex of the main character, but rather many authors choose a main character's sex based off of their intended audience. To prove a point, if Ender (from Ender's Game) had been female, I'm not sure it would have made a big difference in the gender of the audience. Likewise, if the Twilight series were written from the perspective of a male, it also wouldn't have altered the audience drastically. The content of a story has little to do with the gender of the main character when the author has complete control. (less)
