The writer never specifies wether the story is true or not, because it is unimportant and in my opinion for the best. It cycles between the trivial, almost banal explanation of the journey itself, and a deep pondering of certain common themes discussed throughout the book. I took interest in this book after reading The Alchemist and despite not being a religious/ spiritual person myself the book accompanies you in a journey within yourself, at times holding your hand and at others setting you free or leaving you to face your fears. It has a great pace, made it a joy for me to read. Hope you give it a chance!(less)

And it was a charm as well, it follows a very similar path though. I am not really sure why but I remember this book much more vividly than The Alchemist, as if it had resonated more with me. I believe that the littlest you know about it the more you will enjoy the read. I found the pace in this book much more fitting and the actual journey more compelling and much less predictable. Really recomend that you give it a go! please share your opinion afterwards (less)
Vrinda its an amazing book but it is a bit on the spiritual and religious side, might be difficult for children to understand
