If I remember correctly, he's also mentioned that he started writing Anansi Boys first but American Gods ended up being published first. Hope that helps.(less)

I loved American Gods and want to read this, but I have arachnophobia. How much graphic "spidery" content is there?

As far as “graphic spidery content”, I feel like there is only a …moreOne of the main characters is named “Spider”, so the word itself is used frequently. As far as “graphic spidery content”, I feel like there is only a handful of scenes that might be triggering for your arachnophobia. They aren’t long and drawn out though. So you might be able to skip a paragraph or two and be past the worst spidery content.(less)
