I wanted to expose this - the frightening side of love that no one talks about.(less)

It comes from 'one who practices mysterious crafts' and that's exactly what aghoris do. And any kind of mystery plays wonderfully with the human psyche. It's what we don't know that we are the most frightened of. We don't know what the aghoris are up to, in their little world of the dark arts. We don't know how much power they hold, and who their devotion really is for. I am myself very intrigued by them, have always been, and it was apt that I wrote my first book with that theme.(less)

This has a strong connect with the story because Maya does live in an illusion in the beginning of the story (before she realizes her post-marital horrors). Also, Maya is a beautiful name that has national as well as international appeal. It is globally famous.

To answer your question further, I do spend a lot of time coming up with the right name. Sometimes I write more than half the story with a placeholder name and then change it all afterward. The name, for me, has to have a strong relevance to the story.(less)

It should be able to bring out their worst fears and make them face those fears. Terror is the element that should be present throughout such works, and there should be a constant progress towards facing that terror. It is not really difficult to write such stories once you know exactly what you have set out to do. If you step into the characters' shoes and write, it comes easy! And thanks for the compliment on the blurb.(less)

In that manner, I have raised a question on the concept of marriage itself. But apart from that real idea, the story is fictional. I do not know a character like Bhaskar Sadachari in real life.

However, that's the writer's talent. An author has to delve into the deepest recesses of the human psyche and bring out emotions and reactions. That's what we do. An author who writes about a wizard need not be a wizard themselves. Someone who writes about vampires need not be a vampire themselves. Similarly, I have presented my take on how a serial killer would be, and it has come off well.(less)
