The reality, however, is that Lee Child does use Jack Reacher much like Sherlock Holmes and other detectives while making him a six foot five sexual superman beast. If you want some masterpiece, this isn't what you read. This is what you read for some interesting detective work and for violence, action, and romance, which usually has some taste, unlike other lusty books.
