I'm on page 43 of 356 and this one's a sleeper. Any hope for a sudden plot twist to cattle prod my interest back?

I made it to page 200 and then finally gave up. :( 200 pages on a "weird car in a police garage" is not a novel worth reading. The funny thing is that I was told King wrote this in the hospital after being hit. I was told it was supposed be "way out there" but still good. So disappointed, Mr. King. :( Is there anyone out there that has read the whole thing and can just tell me where it went from there?

I read the rest after years of wondering and it was a let-down. The book doesn't give any answers to mystery. It just adds more mystery. We get a brief glimpse of the alien world the car is a portal to, but nothing worth noting or even remembering. (less)

Where do you think the Buick 8 came from? It is a portal between dimensions. I get that but do you think is its origins is of extraterrestrial or the spirit realm? Idk..its never really explained.

I recently got this book at a local bookstore. It's around 700 pages, but the line spacing is pretty big which makes it hard to decide its reading level. I usually just like to mentally prepare myself before I start a book, and was wondering if anyone knew what reading level this was?
