I'm on page 43 of 356 and this one's a sleeper. Any hope for a sudden plot twist to cattle prod my interest back?

I made it to page 200 and then finally gave up. :( 200 pages on a "weird car in a police garage" is not a novel worth reading. The funny thing is that I was told King wrote this in the hospital after being hit. I was told it was supposed be "way out there" but still good. So disappointed, Mr. King. :( Is there anyone out there that has read the whole thing and can just tell me where it went from there?

I read the rest after years of wondering and it was a let-down. The book doesn't give any answers to mystery. It just adds more mystery. We get a brief glimpse of the alien world the car is a portal to, but nothing worth noting or even remembering. (less)

Where do you think the Buick 8 came from? It is a portal between dimensions. I get that but do you think is its origins is of extraterrestrial or the spirit realm? Idk..its never really explained.

I recently got this book at a local bookstore. It's around 700 pages, but the line spacing is pretty big which makes it hard to decide its reading level. I usually just like to mentally prepare myself before I start a book, and was wondering if anyone knew what reading level this was?

It can seem slow at parts but it speeds up in no time. The writing is just simple but effective, so it won't linger over too much and it just gets straight to the point. Is it the new Hodder edition? If it is then those ones DO seem a lot longer because of the spacing. Reading level I wouldn't really know, but it's slow at times and fast at others, it's (like I said) simple and effective and straight to the point. It can be a bit gristly at times, though.
