I can't honestly remember when I first thought of the glowing palms thing, but I'm pretty sure it was while I was doing an exercise from one of my writing books. I thought "What if people's color was on their hand instead of their skin and it could change by shaking hands with someone else?" Then I did a little research in light mixing- what red and green light make when mixed, that sort of thing. That suggested an ending and I wrote a short story based on the idea. Later my wife encouraged me to turn it into a novel. (Goes to show you should always listen to your wife.)

I was lucky, grabbed this book from the DI for a dollar...and very much enjoyed it...want the next soon. So you can tell your book people that the cover is very important for drawing the eye to the book. I could have passed it up amid the clutter. so glad I didn't as I found a new author to follow. Tell your publisher they need to promote this first book and get the next out soon. So when will that happen?

This book looks really interesting and I've entered the giveaways offered for it twice... I want to just buy it for myself, but it's listed with a price of $49.95 on Amazon. That seems a bit steep for a 288 page book....?

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond. For some reason I didn't get an email or anything to let me know there were unanswered questions. Yes, I agree $49.95 is ridiculous. When a book goes out of print I think the algorithms at Amazon start jacking up the price. Makes the authors feel special but is super annoying for the readers. The good news is I sell signed copies of the original on my website for $8.50. An Uncommon Author (dot) com (without the spaces). I say "original" because this book will be rereleased by Pink Umbrella Publishing next summer and there will be many changes. If I were you, I'd wait for the next edition. I think it's better. :) Thanks for the question!(less)

The tentative titles for 2-6 are: The White Serpent, Red Born, Son of a Violet, Green Guard, Obscurité. The first two are from Bruno's perspective, 3rd & 4th from Veronique's, 5th from one of the Royal Guards, and lastly, #6 is from the perspective of Bruno's adopted son. Book two should be out sometime in 2020 at the rate I'm going. haha(less)

I got this book from my Aunt Tanya, who told me her friend had just written a book and she wanted my feedback on it. I read it in a matter of 2 days. I couldn't put it down! Now this book is OBVIOUSLY just the first in a series, and I told my aunt I needed the next one as soon as it is released. When will it be released?

I know it's not very nice to do, but I'm gonna kind pull the rug out from under my readers. The first book is going to be republished (with many changes to character and plot) but I think it will be better than the original. That is estimated to come out summer of 2019. Then book two will be out as quickly as possible after that....so that probably means 2020. Thanks for the question, and tell Tanya she's awesome. :)(less)
