David Edwards My interpretation of this was that the 'disappearing' of Elizabeth was conflated in her mind with the disappearance of Sukey. So while she was 'lookin…moreMy interpretation of this was that the 'disappearing' of Elizabeth was conflated in her mind with the disappearance of Sukey. So while she was 'looking for Elizabeth' she was actually looking for Sukey and all the clues from the past resurfaced.

This is a separate question, but was Maude friends with Elizabeth because she instinctively knew about her sister buried in her garden (Peter mentions that Elizabeth fell in the garden, triggering the stroke,, while digging for something -- did Elizabeth know?) or was that just a coincidence?(less)
