There was also a made for TV version made in 1981 from the BBC, The TV version was low budget and did not have the "Great" special effects that we expect now-days but the series followed the book quite closely far more then the movie did! if you can look past the bad effects it was better then the 2005 movie version by far but yet this is only my opinion :) (less)

Are the five novels abridged in the Ultimate version?

amalie bokorm I don't know this for certain, but for example the first book in the ultimate version is 145 pages, and according to my sources the "regular" versions…moreI don't know this for certain, but for example the first book in the ultimate version is 145 pages, and according to my sources the "regular" versions tend to be 200+ pages so i don't know, but the ultimate version is bigger in size so i guess you can fit more text into the pages(less)

My 11 year old son wants to read this book, He is capable of reading far beyond his age, but do you feel this book may be unacceptable for someone of this age, and why? Thanks in advance for the help!
