I keep hearing about this book (on Amazon :)). I am curious as to what the fuss is about. Some say it is better than Twilight...Is it really?

I was severely …moreI was like you and saw all of the hype on Facebook and Amazon about this book. I picked up and read it quickly because it is so short. I was severely let down after all of the praise it received. I found it rather predictable and boring. I did start the second one in the series thinking that there must be a reason that there are at least nine books in the Shade series, but I could not get myself to finish it. If you are bored and looking for a quick, cheap read, then I saw go for it. If not, then don't bother. That is just my opinion, but clearly there are people out there who enjoyed it. (less)

I'm wondering what the recommended age group is for this series. It's supposedly YA but I've seen it compared to everything from Twilight to Sookie Stackhouse. That's a BIG difference. Would these be appropriate for a young teenaged girl? Sex?

I'm unsure if I want to keep reading the rest of the books, it's not a bad book, but I think it was intended for younger readers. There's no sex in this book.(less)

What I want to know is how the author managed to write and publish 16 books in 2017!!!!!! If I had to guess I would say that "Bella Forrest" is actually a group of ghost writers working together to pump out as many books as possible. Just a theory but I can't think of any other way for ONE person to write, edit and then publish that many books in a year. What do you think?

What is the difference between 2015 printing (ISBN 9781481280761) and the 2017 printing (ISBN 9780998299204) of 'A Shade of Vampire'? Page count appears to be almost exactly the same: 286/287 pages; so what's the big difference?

I looked in the Librarian change logs for the older PB edition to see if there were any page count changes. There were.
It used to be listed as '154' and was changed to '296'
I am going to guess that the PB page count of Amazon is now influenced by the 2015 rewrite? Though I can't be 100% sure.
All I know it was originally listed as 154. At least in the logs.
So 142 pages difference? If that was an accurate listing (the previous 154).
As it is now, I don't really know. I don't have a copy of both to be sure. (less)
