It would be best, in my opinion, to read the rest of the books in the series first, and if possible in order. But you will not be disappointed, if you are a para-normal romance lover you will thoroughly enjoy them all. (less)

Because of her abilities, she suffered a breakdown similar to the ones Sacha had when she was overwhelmed by feelings. Since this happened while Silence was still enforced, she was (voluntarily) "reconditioned" - she went through a process that altered her brain in order to stop feeling emotions, which led to her personality being wiped out.
She wasn't targeted by the Council specifically and she wasn't mentioned in the previous books. Hope this helps!
