On the back it says it is a novel. On the front it says a quote from USA Today, which leads the reader to believe it is a real story. I find this a bit confusing! Which is it? Real? Made up? Combination of both?

Why oh why do readers continue to evaluate a book based on whether or not they "like" the principle characters? Really, not the author's primary goal. I'm going to name it the Hillary Clinton Syndrome.

If you are put off by a character, or don't like a character, then perhaps the writer has done a really good job creating that character to elicit a negative response. Any book or character than causes some strong reaction -- positive or negative -- seems to indicate that the author's job is well done.(less)
