The parallels are beyond striking. Classic examples: Binky is supposed to be giving a testimonial speech about someone and all he talks about is himself. ("He always liked me.", "He thought I was great.") He's further described by a character who says, "...he had never encountered a soul more intensely marinated in self-satisfaction."

There can be no question that Binky is Trump right up to the euphemistically described "inexact intelligence."(less)

It's fiction, but it's got a lot of fantastic elements in it. (It's frequently classified as "magical realism.")

I think you might almost call it a fairy tale. (less)
