Honestly, I love looking at my stats page and seeing what all I've read throughout the year. A couple suggestions for other stats breakdowns that I would enjoy seeing include not just pages or publication year, but also the book genres and it would even be cool to see how many books were read each month.
I like to look at my stats page, but I miss a few information. It could be nice to see the average number of pages per book. It allready shows the longest book, but it could also be interessesting to see the shortest book.
It is very odd that i have listed quite a few books that i have read this year with dates but only 5 are showing in my stats for this year
I've just realised why; I thought the date added was the date read .I have now updated it correctly.
I love stats, and I love the book challenge! I did not make my goal, partially because one if the books I read was 1100 pages. It would be great if you could offer a book challenge by number of pages, and even better, if the book challenge and stats was available via the mobile app (for me, my primary way if accessing GoodReads.) thanks for a great site and service!
I wish the date I marked a book as read was automatically added as the 'read date'. I didn't realize I had to mark the date read so now my books are mostly missing that data.
Hey Tim - this is a great suggestion! We don't automatically enter the date read right now because some members like to add lots of books that they've read in the past at one time. It would be cool if we had an option for this, though. However, the date read does set automatically if you mark a book as "currently-reading" first.
This is a great idea! I have read many books throughout the year and would love to see this visualized. Also, check out this new web site www.myBookSquare.com that allows finding folks with similar reading interests in your own neighborhood through sharing of bookshelves.
I agree with Sheryl . . . I would love if the book challenge was available on the apps as I use my Ipad most of the time. :)
I wish that they would use the old Kindle books that I have read over the years. I wouldn't, however, be able to put dates read on them. Too long ago. I know what I've read by looking at my Kindle cloud. Why can't Goodreads import the Kindle cloud info. As I understand, Amazon has recently acquired Goodreads so should be able to interchange the data.
My stats surprised me to the extent that I'd forgotten about some of the books I'd read this year and it was nice to be reminded of them; this is precisely why I'm on Goodreads, so that's cool.
It would be nice if you could have books listed for more than one year...there are some I enjoy reading multiple times and when I add them for the current year, it takes them out of the previous years' stats.
Just out of curiosity, about the yearly page count stat: is that the total of all books finished in a year, or if I start a book one year and finish it the following year, will it account for what page I reported being on at the end of the year and only count the pages after that toward the next year's stats?

Most of the books I have read in previous years but I imported them from the Kindle cloud all at the same time so they all have the current date. I was able to rate at least most of them.

I have a memory problem that makes me forget really quickly. So, I am able to read some books over and over and get just as much enjoyment each time I read them.

What a shame that on the android app the click here feature just takex me to my normal shelves page. I mostly use the app to update/look at goodreads

I am ashamed to say that 2013 was a pretty slow year for me, reading wise (hangs head in shame). I can say I did a decent job with my
ebook reading
was ok, however I really like to read physical copies. I can say that so far I have completed one book for the year! I am looking forward to reading the classic, "As A Man Thinketh" soon.

I have so many books on my Read shelf that I'll never find time to rate them all, have no idea what date I read them, and a lot of other info they want.
Could there be a feature for the percentage of each genre we read for the year? Such as a scale graph that told you 65% of the total books you read for 2013 were young adult, 25% of the books were nonfiction, 32% of the books you read were romance.
