To celebrate this year’s National Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from September 15 through October 15, we’ve compiled a great selection of new books published in the U.S. in 2025 and 2026. (Note that some of the selections were originally published in Spanish, in which case these are the English translation publication dates.) The books below are drawn from all genres, including nonfiction, and you’ll find a wide range of styles and subjects.
 
For instance: Let’s say you’re in the market for a thoughtful romance that also features time travel. In that case, you may want to check out Natalie Messier’s Every Version of You. Or perhaps you’re looking for a mystery-thriller in the manner of historical noir set in 1940s Mexico. In that case, please consult the new novel from Silvia Moreno-Garcia, The Intrigue.
 
Some other highlights: Pulitzer Prize winner Hernan Diaz is back on shelves in September with his new novel, Ply, a cautionary tale set several hundred years in the future. For a story of devotion set amid the 1960s Space Race, try Chanel Cleeton’s historical fiction epic, An Infinite Love Story.
 
On the nonfiction shelves, Reyna Grande’s Migrant Heart is a memoir-in-essays about the immigrant experience and the American dream. Researcher Daisy Hernández takes a more scholarly and interrogative approach to related topics in Citizenship: Notes on an American Myth.
