Peek Ahead at 2025’s Sexiest New Romances

Love stories! They spring eternal! But you’ve got to plan ahead.
Romance fans looking to organize their reading schedule for the new year should find some utility in this collection: We’ve gathered the most anticipated new romance novels for 2025 and sorted them by publication date into a month-by-month reading guide. These are the books that are generating the most buzz for each month according to your fellow Goodreads members, as indicated by early reader reviews and Want to Read shelves. Also: Look for a special YA Romance section at the bottom of the page.
Some highlights and observations: In February, the ever-versatile Ali Hazelwood dips her toes into the sports romance with Deep End, concerning chlorinated love on the Stanford swim team. In March, T.J. Alexander offers up a Regency-era trans romance with A Gentleman’s Gentleman. And fan favorite Kennedy Ryan is back on shelves in May with her new book, Can’t Get Enough, the third installment in her popular Skyland series.
There’s something for everyone, really: action-adventure, frenemies-to-lovers, paranormal rom-coms, European flings, dark romance, small-town romance, historical romance, ranch lust, pancakes, space aliens, undead relationship dynamics, and the new one from Emily Henry. Looking specifically for romantasy? We’ve got a separate article here if that’s what floats your boat.

They are all cutsey/humor rom-com styles, which is why the cover art is so similar in theme also. I do wish they would have named the list that instead of general romance as that's just one sub-genre type, and one of my least favorites

yup, i counted at least 5. quite trendy right now

2- Who decided these cartoony covers were the thing? They all look the same and it's terrible.

Sameeee!!!! I love Emily Henri I'm so excited to read, Great Big Beautiful Life!!!

Exactly! I don't mind the odd rom-com but they aren't the ones that I typically read. I like my romance a little (ok, a lot) down and dirty (Think Lani Lynn Vale, Jacinda WIlder and Autumn Jones Lake)
The ones on this 'general' romance list are all very one note

This!!!! I made a post off of this list and now I look stupid lmao
