60 New Historical Romances to Relish in 2022

Posted by Sharon on October 26, 2022

Contemporary real-world science suggests that time travel might actually be possible, but it’s still a long way off considering our current level of technology. For dedicated book people, immersive historical fiction is about as close as we can get just now. And as long as we’re wishing out loud, why not add some sex and romance? Can't hurt.

We’ve collected below 60 new historical romance books, all published between January and December of this year. As for destinations, you can pick your time, place, and persuasion. France in 1889? Try A Caribbean Heiress in Paris. Post-Waterloo queer romance? Try A Lady for a Duke. And for a refreshingly frank kind of smorgasbord thing, consider the short story anthology Villain I’d Like to F….

Other highlights this year include the latest in Beverly JenkinsWomen Who Dare series, To Catch a Raven, and debut author Amy Barry’s western mail-order-bride romance Kit McBride Gets a Wife. If you like your historical romance with a splash of the fantastical, you're also in luck with Victorian witches, sexy reanimators, and magical detectives in 1930s Chicago.

A Reader Such a great list! Historical romance is my favorite genre and I am always happy to see it getting some much deserved attention.

I would also add Fiona and the Enigmatic Earl by Grace Callaway and Convergence of Desire by Felicity Niven to the list. :)
