summer always makes me so nostalgic and idk. . i love reading contemporary and urban literature/fiction in summer a lot :p

Not sure what I'll be reading. We will be mainly at home with summer. So ice tea, lemon cookies, a good book, under a blanket in front of the a/c. I hope that Tessa Dare will release the final Duke book sometime soon though. Though it DOES feel weird talking about summer when we have only had 1 80 degree day this year so far.

A lot! I love reading on my front porch. It is so hot here in the summer that reading is just the thing! Thrillers, mysteries and an occasional beach read should fit the bill while continuing to make headway on some group challenges.

Love the recs! I want to read People we meet on vacation and Book lovers by Emily Henry this summer and I also want to reread The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han in preparation for the TV adaptation <3

Nothing's guaranteed, but my plans include Iron Widow, Bridge of Souls, some Agatha Christie and finishing A Marvellous Light

Right? Always the dilemma! I'm thinking classics this summer :)
Summer 2022 - I will read what I usually read - an eclectic mix of classics and new reads, with my favorites set in WWII or somewhere far away from my real life. On deck currently, I have HALF OF A YELLOW SUN, MRS. DALLOWAY, PASSAGE TO INDIA, and A MIDWIFE'S APPRENTICE - sitting by my complex' pool bubblers or the beach and reading a book is my favorite summer activity!

I’ll be reading my usual thrillers, mysteries, lawyer-themed and autobiographical Holocaust survivors books. John Ellsworth , Mark Giminez are a couple of favorite authors.

Yessss do it!
Thank you for this! Adding some to my never ending list :) definitely going to a lot of poetry (a bit of Neruda, Angelou etc., some Eckhart Tolle and The Sunflower.

I'll be reading loooong books.Anna Karenina, War and Peace, Dune, A Song of Ice and Fire, Decameron, some Shakespeare, Dickens, the Brontes...
I'm currently reading the priory of the orange tree and it is so good I'm hoping to find such gems this summer.

Its a Summer of Horror for me! On deck: The Daughter of Doctor Moreau by Silvia Moreno-Garcia, Just Like Home by Sarah Gailey, What Moves the Dead by T. Kingfisher...and also the thrillers Ordinary Monsters by J.M Miro, Upgrade by Blake Crouch, The It Girl by Ruth Ware. Thank you Goodreads for this wonderful list and suggestions!
AND I just found Seasonal Fears by Seanan McGuire at Borderland Books in San Francisco! Middlegame was incredible - I cannot wait to dive in!
It's actually winter here but I'll be reading Virginia Woolf. Aiming to read her works by the end of this year! I think it's a good project for winter evenings.

Yeah, maybe for you. Here in Buenos Aires we are freezing, and close to winter. Our May is your November.

I WILL BE READING THRILLERS AND A FEW OF mARIE bENEDICTS BOOKS AND LOTS OF HISTORICAL FICTION. i WILL PROBABLY READ A COZY MYSTERY SERIES i HAVE DOWNLOADED. iu HOPE TO FINISH THE SAVANNAH SERIES BY hOPE cALLAHAN

I have a TBR stack that I am treating differently than I have in the past, with heart pounding dread, I never knew what would pop up on my screen, Knights in Shining Armor, or handsome gentleman out for a gallop on his prime horesflesh; meanwhile, a beautiful young lady out taking a stroll, with her maid not far behind, like Scarlett trying to figure out how to save her beloved home, the aristocracy in England have had the same problem for centuries. All of these problems will arise in my stack of books. I hope I enjoy their stories, I will be sure to let you know.Thank you,

I love reading historical drama and mystery during the summer. So I have a bunch from Kate Morton, Kate Mosse and Anna Laestadius Larsson

Exactly, I am leaning towards the classics myself, too, tbh! :)
Summer is when I try to read the books for next year's bookclub meetings that we pick in June. So it depends on the list and what I can get over the summer from the library. However I try to get in one or two Tana French tomes that I have come to thoroughly enjoy.

omggggg summer reads are the best! I even read them in winter! I really recommend these books for young adults interested in summer reads! Since You've Been Gone

We Were Liars
I wish these posts were called Seasonal Picks or something similar. It can feel alienating if you live in one of the many countries that are heading into winter. I live in hope that someone will eventually realise and a global perspective will emerge. It's hemispherist. Lol.

Gonna pick up some Jane Austen novels that have been sitting on my shelves for way too long. On the beach or pool, I'll pick up some contemporary romances such as the unhoneymooners, the love hypothesis...

I think I will read books by local authors and do a little research on my community for the summer. Then I can visit some of the local places and maybe the books will become more alive.

I’ll be reading The Coldest Winter: America and the Korean War; The Girl Who Wrote In Silk; and, Eleanor.

Just began a Michael Koryta novel--The Ridge--I'm loving it and will (perhaps) read more of his books this summer.

I'm not sure yet what I'll be reading this summer. Classics which have been waiting on my shelves for too long or newly published pieces. We'll see!
