Fez From what I've seen pretty much all of these are about America(n people) :/

Zohal Empire of Pain is incredible!!!

message 4: by JuliaR (new)

JuliaR I agree with Fez - it’s hard to find a non-fiction book compelling if you’re reading only about a country you’re not part of.

Caroline Nothing new here :(

message 6: by Shannon (new)

Shannon I understand the sentiment for more diversified lists, Fez, but there’s no need to be offensive about it.

message 7: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Lots of good reads on this list! I'd add:
-The Body by Bill Bryson,
-Catch and Kill by Ronan Farrow
-Shoe Dog by Phil Knight

Lyndon "Behind the Beautiful Forevers" by Katherine Boo should be included on the list.

It should definitely be on this list.

message 18: by Kerry (new)

Kerry Empire of the Summer Moon Quanah Parker and the Rise and Fall of the Comanches, the Most Powerful Indian Tribe in American History by S.C. Gwynne

This chronicle of the history of the Comanche people is superb. It was nominated for a Pulitzer in 2011 and reads like the best of thrillers.

message 19: by Michael (new)

Michael Perkins read most of these
