Sara Sounds like a good week to pull out a copy of "Gabriel's Inferno." If you want a really great romance story with two characters you will love, you cannot beat this one. It's one of the best love stories I have ever read.

Pestilence (pretty much anything by Laura Thalassa is steamy and super super good)
A Touch of Darkness (I mean it was like not too steamy but there was tension to the roof)
Darkest Flame (right, this book had bloody tension galore, if you're looking for a plot & steam... this isn't the one, but like it was alright, you know?)

The Kiss Quotient was my go-to after reading The Hating Game because that book gave me one hell of a bookhangover XD
The Flatshare is a slow burn rom-com but it's absolutely adorable- not as steamy as The Hating Game but it's definitely fitting for romance week :)

Her Last Resort by Fiona McGier--not on Amazon, but available at many others--https://books2read.com/u/banQ2y

Heroine is in early 50's and an ex-CIA agent. Hero is also early 50's and ex KGB agent. Her daughter is the one to get them to meet each other. Part of the Minnesota Romances series.

message 77: by Fiona (new)

Fiona McGier Alli wrote: "I need y'all to make a list of romances by BLACK authors, as it is black history month, too."

Ones I've read and reviewed for TBR Pile--
Perfect Duet by Aliyah Burke--Smoking hot, steamy all through! She's a SWAT team member, and gets involved with a fellow agent deeply undercover. Action, suspense, and hot romance!

A Stroke at Midnight by Lyndell Williams--quickie story with BDSM elements--he's been in-love with his brother's widow for years, helping her to raise her teen-aged son. She's fantasized about him since recovering from her grief. Very hot!

message 78: by Fiona (new)

Fiona McGier Shari Elder's Green Rising duet--#2 is The Scent of Memory--just won January book of the month at TBR Pile--rated 5!

James Cox's Otherworld series--M/M/F, 3 books--all excellent stories, with steamy scenes throughout. And all 3 participants are involved with the other two. Menage well-done!

message 79: by Kaylee (new)

Kaylee Hmmm...I will likely be on Ao3 reading fan fiction. Most romance novels (read: every single one I've attempted to read, ever) just leave me in a spaced-out state of boredom and lethargy of the imagination.

message 89: by Nancy (new)

Nancy I love this ! Great suggestions!

message 90: by Renia (new)

Renia It's not my favourite genre but i'm in an "age gap trope" phase, so any suggestions would be great with a slow burn romance like "Don't kiss the bride" by Carian Cole.

Sunny Groves The Bi-Curious Idiot {Rey} wrote: "Any suggestions for books appropriate for my age?"

Not sure what your age is, but if you're looking for teen romance, The Falling in Love Montage is SO good! Highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend. Queer girls in love!
The Mermaid, The Witch, and the Sea is good as well if you like gay pirates (who doesn't?). It has a few darker themes (TW for discussion of possible sexual assault, torture, and violence).
Also, I haven't read it yet but I've heard great things about Cemetery Boys.

message 93: by Luna (new)

Luna Such amazing selections of books perfect for this romantic month!

message 94: by Cherry (new)

Cherry Considering it is Black History month, it would be cool if one of these featured groups included books by and about POC. Let us hope something similar is present at some point this month.

Susana Karen Rose, who writes Suspense Romance, is amazing. Read her books, they tell hard stories, but are well written. I love romance books. I started with Johanna Lindsey (RIP) when I was 11.
