32 Big Books that YA Fans Can't Wait for in 2019

Posted by Marie on January 2, 2019

A prince who must lead a broken kingdom. A girl who wants to be the greatest rapper of all time. A small-town hero destined to save the world. These are the young adult superstars who are ready to take readers by storm.

To create this list of the most anticipated YA releases, we took a look at the upcoming books that Goodreads members can't wait to get their hands on. From here, we measured their excitement based on how many times they've added the books to their Want to Read shelf.

We're also keeping an eye out for faves whose titles or release dates haven't been revealed yet, including the next installments in series such as Tahereh Mafi's Shatter Me, Sabaa Tahir's An Ember in the Ashes, Rainbow Rowell's Simon Snow, and Neal Shusterman's Arc of a Scythe.

Which new YA books are you most excited about? Share them with us in the comments!

Richard Wright The Suspects
Not sure if The Suspects (Richard Wright) will make it to the list, but I think it'd be a worthy addition. I don't even know if I'm allowed to say so here! But it has worth, whatever.

Do you mean Dark Age? Because Iron Gold was released last year. I'm looking forward to that too. Even though I haven't started the series yet.

Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ Why is Red, White, and Royal Blue on this list? Isn't it an adult book as stated by its author?

Marilyn I would recommend “All the Promises We Break”by Brenda Benny.
I think it’s a prequel to her first YA novel, That Secret You Keep.
The subject matter is very current even though the story takes place about 30 years ago.

Ebenezer Are there no male YA authors? All these books seem to be pitched to women. Is Goodreads suggesting that YA men don't read YA books? Where are the books that could be pitched to men on this list?

⚯͛ Åndí △⃒⃘ Chain of Gold is a stand-alone? I thought it was a trilogy.
