Take Note! It's Now Even Easier to Share Your Kindle Notes and Highlights with Friends (U.S., U.K., Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India)

Ever had a moment reading a book where you've gasped aloud? Or laughed out loud? How about that moment when you read about a new idea that is perfect for what's going on in your life? Readers often want to share moments like these with friends, so last year we launched the ability to share your Kindle notes and highlights on Goodreads. Now we are making it even easier to let your friends see what you "wrote in the margins" with our new page where you can see all the books with your notes and highlights.
Since we launched Kindle Notes & Highlights on Goodreads, we've been hearing from our members that they love having another way to share more of what they read.

all my @kindle highlights are synced up with @goodreads account too. Why did I not notice this before? Great feature!

Just found out that your Kindle Highlights are available in Goodreads. #lovedit #amazon #happyreading.

By default, your Kindle notes and highlights are only viewable by you—you're always in control. You can choose to share them with friends by marking any (or all) of your notes and highlights as "Visible," and your friends will be able to view, like, and comment on them.
You can also add notes or edit your notes directly on Goodreads, and your changes will be saved back to your Kindle book. And if you're worried about spoilers, we've got you covered! You can mark individual notes and highlights as spoilers, so your friends can decide when they're ready to read them.
In the past few months, we've made several improvements. Now you can also:
One of the top requests has been for an easy way to see all your Kindle notes and highlights in one place on Goodreads, and we're now making that possible with our new Kindle Notes & Highlights page. It's a quick way to review all the books in your Kindle library with notes and highlights, edit or add to your notes, and decide which ones to share with your friends to start a conversation.

In the past few months, we've made several improvements. Now you can also:
- Access your notes and highlights from the Goodreads apps for iPhones, iPads, and Android devices (in addition to Goodreads.com). Want to refer to a key passage while you're at lunch with a friend or at your book club? Go to the book page in your Goodreads app and you'll find a link to your Kindle notes and highlights.
- In Kindle for iOS, choose which notes to share from the notebook.
- Share the notes and highlights from any Kindle book you purchase or borrow. This now includes Kindle books you borrow from your library, or read with a Kindle Unlimited or Prime Books subscription.
- See annotations from authors. Look for a link at the end of the description on the Goodreads book page to find books with author annotations, including The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg, A Darker Shade of Magic by Victoria Schwab, Royally Screwed by Emma Chase, and The Friends We Keep by Susan Mallery.

In which markets is this supported?
Kindle Notes & Highlights on Goodreads is supported within the following Kindle marketplaces: United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and India, for customers who have linked their Goodreads and Amazon accounts.

I would guess it's limited to books acquired via Amazon. Because .mobi files aren't actually .amz files that's probably the difference but I don't actually know.

I see, and thank you for explaining the behind-the-screens aspects. Much appreciated.

Also, like Classic Reverie said above sometimes it's hard to remember or confusing to remember which book/story said what. Now I can go back easily to confirm where I read something!
Thank You!

Thanks,
HB

There is! On your Goodreads profile, right under your profile image, there is a link that says "X reviews." If you click that, it'll take you to your My Books page, which will be sorted by books that have reviews at the top.

The URL is www.goodreads.com/notes, which is mobile-friendly and accessible on desktop or mobile from your browser.
On Goodreads desktop, you can find the link by going to My Books, and then clicking on Kindle Notes & Highlights under the Your Reading Activity section of the left-side column. We don't link to this page in our mobile apps at this time, but we're working on making it accessible in different places! Let us know if there's somewhere in particular you'd like to see it.

I had no idea you guys had updated the links below the shelves!!
I never scroll down that far; I have almost 200 shelves!! (Yes, obsessive, I know).

This went live with the Kindle Notes & Highlights launch today. We took the opportunity to go ahead and update that left column while we were adding the new page in. We hope you find it helpful!
P.S. I definitely understand about the custom shelves! Somehow mine keep growing. 😀

I love it! My eyes lit up when I saw "Most-Read Authors"!

Wow! That is soooooo cool! I never would have found that feature. Thanks so much,
HB

I miss this ability to be honest.

You'll find your friends' notes and highlights (if they've chosen to share them by marking them 'visible') on the book page under the "Friend Reviews" header. You'll see a yellow page icon with the amount of notes and highlights they've made next to it — click there to see them!
It'll look something like this:

You may also see the notes and highlights of people you're not friends with in the Community Reviews section on the book page. This is because notes and highlights marked 'visible' are made available for that profile's friends and anyone else who has access to the profile itself. To change this, you can edit your account's privacy settings.

Sorry for the trouble! If Goodreads is completely missing from your Kindle device that sounds like it could be a software issue on the Kindle itself. It's best to contact Kindle Support for assistance. They'll need to know your model of Kindle (Paperwhite, Fire etc) so best to have that handy.

Thanks Shaun for answering but where is the "friend review" located? I see reviews under the ratings on the top left corner of the profile page but nothing named "friend review". I am clear and see the notes and highlights at the book page where there are community reviews. Could it be that unless a friend uses highlights and notes, you will not see such a heading? Thank you for helping clear this up for me. :)

There isn't a separate link on the profile page to view this; it is just on the book page. When viewing a friend's review on the book page, if they have shared Kindle Notes & Highlights, you'll see the image Shaun shared above at the top of their review.

Thank you!

Unfortunately, one Amazon account can only be linked to one Goodreads account. We're aware that many people use a single Amazon account, especially for reading, and we hope to be able to improve this going forward.
One potential workaround may be to set your daughter up with her own Amazon account through Amazon Households so that she logs in with her own email address that she could then link to Goodreads. If you need further help troubleshooting, please email support (at) goodreads (dot) com, as we'll need your account information in order to assist.

Thank you for your feedback on this; we're sorry you find the notifications annoying. Unfortunately there is currently no preference that controls the prompt to share your Notes & Highlights. In order to stop receiving them, you would need to unlink your Goodreads and Amazon accounts, but we do not recommend doing so, as you would lose all the benefits that come with having your accounts linked.
We know that there is room for improvement on the notifications for Kindle Notes & Highlights on Goodreads, and we're eager to improve these in the future.

You'll want to unlink your old Amazon account from Goodreads and relink your new one. Both these actions can be done from your apps tab in your Account Settings (desktop website).
Note: to prevent issues with this, please sign out of any Amazon account you may be signed in to before attempting the above.
I hope this helps!

I did, complete with screenshots, details - the works. I hope they get it fixed soon. I miss having the GR integration on my Kindle.

I say to people!
Hey you!
Be warned,
This is my time, time to shine
The time has arrived for me to ink
To write my beautiful dreams alone
Dreams to drive me delighted and tickled
This is writing for me, yes, me alone
Writing is my excuse to be alone than along
To deal with emotional trials and tribulations of life
Yes, trajectories of life (bareness or loneliness)
Indeed writing can be a tiring process
Yet to me is a way to escape destructive habits
(Drinking and drugging)
I will rather draw than drink or drug
Rather innovate than be a trend follower
Rather compose than complain
Yes, be a builder than a bully
Or plan to build than blame
Rather be aloof than amid
Yes, rather write than wine
Or move than mourn
Me being a writer Is emancipation
I chose to write
To Ink my thoughts
“I write what I like”
Those were Biko‟s words
I chose to write what I like
I‟m freedom writer
