Rebecca Rowland is a Shirley Jackson Award-nominated author, a Bram Stoker Award-nominated editor, and the recipient of a Godless 666 Horror Fiction Award. She is an Active member of the Horror Writers Association and International Thriller Writers, and having lived in Massachusetts for most of her life, she chooses to set most of her fiction there.
Despite earning graduate degrees in English, Education, and Information Science, she miraculously managed to pay off her student loans before retirement and/or death.
In her spare time, she pets her cats, eats cheese, and drinks vodka, though not necessarily in that order.
She is represented by Becky LeJeune of Bond Literary Agency.

Sometimes, my stories come from the smallest of details. For instance, "Open House" sprang from a television commercial advertising enrollment at the Catholic elementary school near my house. "The Munchies" was inspired by a close friend of mine who has small children. He used to begin almost all of our conversations with "Don't ever have children" before recounting a trying incident with one or both of his kids; he loves them more than anything in the world, so the comment became more of a comedic mantra, but I couldn't help but wonder, what if it wasn't the raising of the children that was so frustrating but the pregnancy itself? and the creepy side effect the couple experiences in the story was born.(less)

Curtain Call by Anthony Quinn
"The setting is 1930's London, and the main plot is a series of murders committed by the ' Tiepin Killer '. Though chilling and intense, the murders do take something of a backseat to the rich array of characters. Make no mistake though, it in no way " Read more of this review »

“Every time I think about it, it makes me happy. Do you think I’m a monster?”
Rebecca Rowland, White Trash and Recycled Nightmares

“Human bodies wear down," he continued . "They give out. No one is immortal, not without help. All writers wish to live forever, don't they? Even if they won't admit it. They vomit up these sacred parts of themselves, wrap those shards in paper, and pray the remnants will exist long after they are decomposing in the grave.”
Rebecca Rowland, Shagging the Boss

“That afternoon, she thought momentarily of those 1950s B-movies with alien invaders who inhabited unsuspecting human hosts.”
Rebecca Rowland, White Trash and Recycled Nightmares

“If you feel safe in the area you’re working in, you’re not working in the right area. Always go a little further into the water than you feel you’re capable of being in. Go a little bit out of your depth. And when you don’t feel that your feet are quite touching the bottom, you’re just about in the right place to do something exciting.”
