Monday night? Was that the day? “Yes.”
“She brought you some cookies.”
Where was she going with this? “How do you know…about the cookies?”
“Zac,” she said. “I need to know how many cookies you ate that night and each day after that.”
He closed his eyes as another wave of nausea washed over him. His fuzzy mind struggled to connect the questions. Was she implying…? “The cookies are making me sick?”
