Consequence Of Sound has premiered The Dead Ships new single "Company Line."  The new single offers a peek at the band's full-length album due later this year. The Dead Ships' frontman Devlin McCluskey told Consequence Of Sound, “So many things seem intentionally set up to give you the sensation of falling. And I think when people feel out of options they’ll pull whatever ripcord they can find. I started writing about buying into things that no one ever wanted, how and why that happens and what it feels like to be stuck in that place, but I think it ended up more like an ole fashioned f*ck-tha-man song (which I’m completely on board with). Fascism does seem to be in fashion these days.” The single was produced by Broken Social Scene’s Brendan Canning who also worked with the band on last year's EP 1 and features cover art by acclaimed street artist Greg “Craola” Simkins.

The Dead Ships have also announced upcoming tour dates with Le Butcherettes. The upcoming tour will make stops in Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Toronto, Washington, D.C., Atlanta and more. The band will also be performing at San Francisco's Noise Pop Festival and Austin's SXSW Music Festival before play at Coachella in April. The Dead Ships' Devlin McCluskey told Buzzbands LA, "This [Coachella confirmation] came out of nowhere. It always seems like there’s some invisible hand working for bands to get to the next level, but we have no label, no booking agent, nothing like that. It’s such a surprise.” He adds, "It feels like 2016 is going to be a really fun year for us.  We’ve just worked and worked and worked and worked. It seems like it might be paying off.”

The Los Angeles-based band is touring in support of "Company Line" and their latest release EP 1 which is available now to download on iTunes or BandCamp. The EP was produced by Broken Social Scene’s Brendan Canning and marked the first time Canning produced a record for a band he wasn’t a part of, and The Dead Ships made the most of the experience. McCluskey told Consequence Of Sound, "Getting to work with Brendan Canning on your guitar-driven indie rock is like getting to work with Barry Bonds on your steroid regimen (allegedly).”
In the three years since the Dead Ships traded punches at their first living room practice, LA's howling garage rock trio have toured the shadiest parts of the continent, slept on the grimiest couches, and been named one of the city's best live shows (DoLA, Grimy Goods). Balancing feral and soulful, they've most recently released EP 1, produced by Broken Social Scene's Brendan Canning, with emotional lead single "Big Quiet" spending 5 weeks at number one on KROQ's Local's Only. From celebrating youthful innocence to comprehending life after tragedy, singer Devlin McCluskey writes songs that are pensive yet upbeat. Building off influences such as The Pixies while maintaining their comparison to The Strokes, The Dead Ships are a reminder that honest guitar rock still has its place in this world - and it's a loud one.
